Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our halal matrimonial platform and privacy practices

How does Humsafar differ from ordinary dating applications?

Humsafar is built strictly for Islamic matrimonial purposes with no casual swiping, no frivolous matching mechanics, and strict adab guidelines. We facilitate direct Wali involvement, explainable compatibility criteria, and verified profiles focused on long-term marriage.

What is Family Connect and how does my Wali participate?

Family Connect allows you to invite your father, brother, mother, or legal guardian to your account. You decide what permissions to grant them, such as reviewing matches, receiving email alerts, and participating directly in conversations with suitors.

How are my photographs protected?

You have complete control over your photo visibility. Options include 'Public', 'Request Access Only' (where suitors must ask permission to view), and 'Blurred Overlay' (where photographs remain softly blurred until you approve).

What does Profile Verification involve?

We offer three verification tiers. Tier I verifies your phone and login credentials. Tier II checks a valid government ID (Passport, National ID, or Driving License). Tier III verifies a live selfie gesture to confirm identity and eradicate fake profiles.

How does the Compatibility Algorithm work?

Our algorithm calculates an explainable percentage match based on daily Salah habits, religious practice, halal diet, age preferences, educational compatibility, and geographic relocation willingness. We also provide a mandatory Islamic disclaimer reminding users to perform Istikhara prayer and consult family.

Can divorced or widowed Muslims join Humsafar?

Absolutely. Humsafar welcomes all single Muslims (never married, divorced, widowed, or annulled) seeking a halal union in accordance with Islamic principles.
